Happy and satisfied customer

First time trying 'giftcards.ca' and I was very unsure considering the negative reviews. I am very satisfied with the whole process. All went well with the ordering, variety of options , payment methods and on-time issuing the digital gift card. Just be mindful that the receiver might get the digital gift card in their spam folder.

I'm surprised at the bad reviews here

I'm surprised at the bad reviews here. It was only site I could $5 Tim Hortons giftcard but it had no fee on it. It was like 11 PM. Immediately, they verified the purchase. And it worked. Makes filling out those survey sites all the more worthwhile; who was who paid for the card. This site also takes Paypal; which made the same all that more convenient.

Absolute scam

Absolute scam. The site came up when I looked for LCBO egiftcards. Purchased one and it said it needed to be approved. Got an email straight away to say it was approved (out of the supposed opening hours when I tried to contact them). My recipient didn't receive an email despite me being told she had (in spam or junk either). I contacted via chat due to being in a different country. Received no response then the email suddenly showed up later that day after id made contact despite them not acknowledging my concerns. When trying to make a purchase with it the card is empty.

Beware- this is a total scam

This business is a total scam, beware! I ordered several $50 gift cards from Canadian Tire and they were all EMPTY. I took them to a Canadian Tire store and was told they were fraudulent cards and had no value. When I contacted Giftcards.ca, they refused to take any accountability or replace the cards- it's obvi a total scam, buy from an actual store or real/reputable website, warning!

Said my card was declined

Said my card was declined. Visa says they charged the account and then credited it back. Nothing wrong with my credit card though. Now I'll have to keep an eye out for suspicious purchases. At best, this site is incompetent.

FRAUD alert

FRAUD alert, This site is a total fraud. I purchased an Esso gift card through them. When I tried to use it, it was declined. For more than 9 weeks I have been trying to resolve the issue or get a refund and they are going in circles. Terrible customer service and fraud.

Failed transaction, PayPal

I placed an order for an egiftcard worth $200 online (giftcards.ca). Upon I was placing the order, I chose to pay with PayPal, when verifying purchase, the actual website said that the transaction had an error, but on my behalf, my card was charged and now I have a preauthorization payment sitting in my PayPal. The website has no trace of any order and upon contacting the websites support, they keep telling me that they have received no payment therefore cannot delete the transaction, and to contact PayPal to see what they can do. I have tried contacting PayPal support as well, and they told me "Here on our end the authorization will automatically expired after 30 days. That's the time that the seller can no longer process the transaction. Have their PayPal account manager cancelled this transaction on directly on the seller's PayPal account so the funds will be release back on your account." From this, I don't understand how my own money cannot be released back to me? Giftcards.ca have already admitted that the order is cancelled, and no product will be delivered. PayPal's rule system confuses me. It just feels like they are holding my money at this point. 30 days is absolutely insane, so I did what PayPal's support told me, and sent an email to their higher authority support. 4 days later they reply: "Please be advised that your order was canceled. We were unable to process the payment from your credit card. We suggest you contact your credit card company directly. Since no funds were captured on our end, the funds will be released according to your card company's timeframe." So, I also did what they told me, contacted my credit card company, in which they told me to wait a week since that is how long the waiting time is before you can file for a dispute. All in all, this is such a big headache, all because of one transaction that went wrong on THEIR BEHALF. The simple solution is to login to their business PayPal account and cancel the pending order from there. Yet their support doesn't seem to understand this. Not sure what to do other than let time run, obviously a huge waste of time, and a terrible support experience, NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE. WHEN PURCHASING, DO NOT PAY WITH PAYPAL! or just stay away from this website, I understand that they are reputable, but if any goes wrong, don't expect your problem to be solved fast.

DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE SCAMMERS

Happily sold me a fake JOKER PREPAID MASTERCARD that is unable to be used in a single online / brick and mortar location. Forever INVALID card. Tried to contact both the JOKER team (good luck with that, their whole website is broken with a 403 Forbidden error message on any tab you click). Giftcards.ca does nothing to help and happily continues to sell this junk. My guess is they own JOKER card and issue a fake cc number and then pin the blame on 'them'. This will be resolved as I'll just chargeback from my CC and report them till they no longer exist. Edit: A reply to Giftcards.ca - Ask your customer service representative "Erika" to provide them to you. I provided her the same details I provided to you and she managed to find it (although she did diddly-squat to help apart from tell me to speak to JOKER). When I tried to tell her that I have, MULTIPLE TIMES, to no avail, but she didn't care and dismissed the issue. As the sellers, you must assume responsibility here. So yeah, hard pass on dealing with you again.
