The guys at SPAN were incredibly helpful both before and after I made my purchase and built the NAS and delivered it extremely fast.

The sales from Span.com are very polite. Sadly if they give incorrect information about products the politeness does not amount to much. I brought a DS3018xs and was told it has SHR. It does not but by then I had the unit and was about to rebuild the raid array. Not having SHR meant that I would have been at a point where I would have needed to purchase larger drives within a year. From here I swapped the unit for the Synology ds3617xs giving me 4 bays for expansion. I was told that this could be a swopped over in postage but this was also not true. I had to follow up my order as it was waiting for further payment. I was also sold the M2D18 from the first order for my NVMe drives. NVMe drives do not work with the DS3617xs. I made a complaint regarding the bad information given at each stage of my order. So far all contacts have made no comments about my complaint to the point where after calling they did not even know about my emails. The time frame has been 2 months now. Obviously, I have not detailed each stage entirely here but it does outline problems throughout the order. Be aware that in my view Span.com have no procedure or structure to deal with complaints. It seems to be dealt with by saying email someone. At this point, I see no structure in any clear form of it being dealt with. Just a quick added comment. I just called Span.com to talk with Rob the director who has never got back to me. He was not in and Richard who works for him basically told me that there was nothing he could do to get him to answer my concerns. Update. I got a reply but sadly they didn't even get what unit I had correct. They thought I still had the first unit that was sent back DS3018xs. Will it ever end!

I was very happy with my purchase from SPAN. I had searched for a specific item and Google took me to SPAN as one of the options. The item I needed was available quickly at a sensible price, so I ordered it from them and received it within a week. What more could one ask?
