Absolutely horrible. If you can stay away do it. Unfortunately we have a year left with him as our lease just started and it’s been a total nightmare!!!

If I could give no stars I would. I have been trying to see a property they have listed for rent for over a week whoever this agent is in Maryland pushes schedules a week later to be shown obviously they are too busy to get these homes rented for the owners I had arrangements to meet a so-called agent at a property at 5:30 they contacted me at 4:30 just to confirm that I would be there I text back yes I arrived at the property at 5: 05, then they text saying due to an emergency they are not able to make it then I get another text that they will meet me at the property I sat there and waited until approximately 5:50 no one ever showed up so if you want your home rented out don't use this company, they obviously aren't showing properties like they should or just to busy.

Do not rent from this company as they disregard all tenant laws and are extremely terrible people. Customer service is horrible, maintenance is unresponsive, my family hasn’t had heat 4 in months. In addition, the owner is corporate, privileged, and greedy. This company shouldn’t be allowed to operate at all. We had their own representatives informing us of the toxic workplace culture and they used that as an excuse to continue being horrible. I wouldn’t recommend renting from them at all.
Worst rental management company ever
Worst rental management company ever, they are pure fraud. History - the first tenant they got us when they were OneRent was good. The second time we thought it’ll be the same standard but they got us criminals! Cops have called me, arrested the tenants. The tenant had other criminals stay at the property, kept multiple dogs, filthy unhygienic conditions of the property, issues to the whole community. I have tried to get poplar to take action but been unsuccessful. They don’t respond back to emails, texts, calls nothing! They don’t even put notice for non payment of rent. Their only answer is eviction for which they don’t provide any support nor do they have smart legal guys. They are all numbskull
Website, customer service, and payment issues
Our company just turned everything over to Poplar and it has been nothing but trouble from day one. Good luck trying to get a hold of them by phone and by the time they respond to email the majority of whatever issues you might have have long surpassed an appropriate timeline for resolution. My biggest issue thus far has been with their payment system on the Poplar website. They need to seriously look into fixing common issues many consistently find such as buttons not working or payments going through without allowing the tenant to review what it is they are paying. I have a list of things I am disappointed with and it’s only been a couple months.
Renting from them has been a nightmare
Renting from them has been a nightmare. We were ensured that our townhome would be move-in ready, but on our move-in day discovered that there is mold in the two upstairs showers, the built in lights downstairs are hanging out, the downstairs is infested with ants, the fridge is broken, plumbing needs fixing, the kitchen faucet is broken, the walls haven’t been repainted and there are patches everywhere, and the washer smells horribly like mildew. It’s been almost impossible to get an email response from our leasing agent now, and no one at Poplar has answers to anything. We want out of our lease but the company is set up to make it impossible to get a hold of a knowledgeable employee. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY.

Every since Rancho Plaza Reality merged with Poplar the service has been very poor.
Their payment system has always trouble…
Their payment system has always trouble and I can't proceed payment. They start to asking about penalty fee due the reason their payment system is down. I am sharing this information in order to protect me before I talk to my lawer. It scares me a lot. I don't bear paying more money due to the reason caused by Poplar Homes.
Avoid at all cost as a tenant or owner
I am an tenant at one of their properties and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had..it was over 2 months before I was able to get this taken care of. Never even had someone call me. The issue was with my dishwasher and they have given me many excuses as to why they cant get someone to come out. They finally told me to call the vendor myself to schedule the repair. I called and was able to schedule the appointment the same day. So why after 2 months Poplar couldn't do this is beyond me. The vendor stated he would have to charge me since there is no work order from Poplar. I Called Poplar back who informed me they would call him and let him know the work order. Vendor came out and was upset that I wasn't the one to pay since he assumed I was the owner of the property since I was the one who had to call and schedule. Vendor had no idea who Poplar home was. I have tried communicating with Poplar via text (which is one way we have been communicating) as well as sending emails regarding this. Never heard anything back from them. I hope this vendor gets paid since he was able to resolve my two month long headache.
It's a nightmare
It's a nightmare, they have no regard for landlords and tenants. My tenant already moved in 20 days but still did not get the house keys from them. Tenants have to use the garage opener that I gave to them to get in/out of the house. Every time we called, a different guy from the Turn Operation Team promised they would take care of it within 24 hours, but it never happened, until now my tenant is still waiting for the house keys.
