We were not happy in the fact that the car had an old battery which died on us the very first night, very late at night. This led to a very long, 2 hour, wait for AA before we were given a jump start to get home. It was lucky that we were able to exchange the car the next day, but we had to collect it from the airport, not on Hutt Road. Apart from that, the car was fine for the week that we needed it. It was not a modern car but it got us out and about for our visit.

This was the nicest rental car experience I've ever had. I booked a car for relocation so it was a super discounted rate. The team at Omega Queenstown airport were very patient and accommodating when twice I changed my pick up day/time. In the end, I pre-arranged to pick it up after hours. They made that very easy for me to do and left a lovely welcoming note for me - a thoughtful touch. I was thrilled to receive a new Toyota Rav4, which I just loved. Our connecting flight to Queenstown was delayed and we almost missed the shuttle bus. Thanks to Katherine (Queenstown), she was very helpful and patient and provided us with a plan B should we miss the shuttle. The whole transaction was smooth and pleasant and the car is working well throughout my 16 days trip. Omega also allow us to return the car at Auckland, which is a plus point!

When I picked up the rental, one doesn’t expect to pay the top fee price for the parking, as you are 1.5 km away one could have dropped it off in the afternoon. Second point. I had a family emergency and returned the car the day after instead of three days later…. And no refund !!!!!

The GPS in the rental did not work at all. We were told when collecting the car that it needed updating, but were not told it didn't work at all. The courtesy coach driver at Christchurch must have been having a bad day as she was short and unfriendly. I asked for a refund regarding the gps not working as we are from Australia and gps would be regarded as one of the essentials required in a different country. I was told to email the company. Overall the price would have been good for a vehicle with everything working.

This was our second time renting from Omega and it was great both times. Very good rates, a fine car, and no fuss, including over our declining the insurance that our credit card company covers (CDW/LDW). No "gotchas" at any point, and no hassle when we changed our plans (ahead of arriving in NZ) to drop the car at Auckland instead of Wellington. The car was a couple of years older than I anticipated--a 2016 Toyota Corolla sedan with 200,000+km--but it ran perfectly and had plenty of pep for passing slow trucks and mountain passes, even with four occupants and a full boot. The only downside was the headlights' being dim, which we discovered the one time we drove at night. I really like the fact that Omega doesn't put any stickers or such on the vehicle identifying it as a rental. Stealth mode. I highly recommend the company and will be using them again on our next visit, hopefully in a shorter time than the 7 years between this and our previous.

great service, very quick and straight forward

Pick up and drop off were smooth and fast. We were able to pick the car up in central Auckland and drop it off a week later without additional charges. The agents were friendly and courteous. The car was one we had requested.
