Installation interruption

I could not process STP, instead I kept getting messages to upgrade my Reckon Accounts 2021 but when I tried I got another error: installation was interrupted before Reckon Accounts could be installed! I rang support who guided me through and my issue was resolved. It turned out that it had nothing to do with my upgrade as my software was up to date but it had to do with exporting an old file.

From Quicken EasyStart to Reckon One

I will not go into all the details as it takes too long. I have used Reckon, previously Quicken Easy start for over 25 years.However, in July this year, I was advised this version of Reckon would cease in September 2021 - ie in 2 month's time. I was nor happy with this as my previous refresh in 2018 had confirmed my next licence refresh would be 16 July 2024. I contacted Reckon and was not treated well by the person I spoke to, so I wrote a complaint to the Department of Fair Trading. This resulted in a satisfactory arrangement with Reckon, using Reckon One web based accounting system.. I am an accountant by background, so I understand double entry accounting, etc. However, I needed some assistance in understanding how Reckon one worked. The various "help" videos were not very useful when it came to double entry book keeping. However there is a telephone Help Desk facility which was more helpful. Initially, speaking to several people from the Help Desk, I found out they did not really seem to understand double entry book keeping. However, eventually I spoke with someone from the Help Desk who I could understand and together we worked out how manual entries could be processed in Reckon One. So, apart from the initial angst of starting and understanding a new accounting system, it has all ended satisfactorily!

simplicity to report to ATO

I just needed a simple app to report wages to ATO. When I had trouble navigating the app I received patient assistance and now have gor my head around it and am enjoying it's simplicity.
