Avoid at all costs.
Rented an apartment through belvoir, the apartment was dirty, damp, and needed decorating and had repairs that needed to be done. Needed somewhere to live ASAP so I took the apartment after being told I could decorate. I redecorated the apartment and got rid of the damp and mold. I made constant phone calls and emails to Belvoir but the other repairs were never done and today I've been told my deposit is being kept by the landlord for unapproved decorating. Belvoir told me I could decorate and the apartment needed it bad. Now the apartment is up for rent again for nearly £100 more than I was paying.
Having rented with the Wednesbury…
Having rented with the Wednesbury branch for 2 years, I can safely say that I'm no longer dealing with such a dodgy letting agent. Firstly, the flat I was renting had no hot running water for the 2 years I was living there. Quite literally, I had to boil water on the stove in order to wash up, and I had to invest in a camping shower so I was able to clean myself from a B&Q bucket in the bath tub. Not only that, but on my final month after giving notice, Belvoir entered the property whilst I was still leasing it. I was out at the time, but the agents phoned and seemed confused as to why I had not left - until their realisation kicked in, and I had another 3 weeks on the tenancy. Just when things could not get any worse as you're probably thinking, I was charged for a 'professional clean' of the carpets despite already paying for one out of my own pocket. The carpet was literally that dirty and full of cigarette burns the day I moved in. There was also a constant damp smell and mould had destroyed coats, my wardrobe and shoes. And before Belvoir Wednesbury wish to contest this, I have videos and pictures throughout. They also blew me off when I reported no hot water with Penny saying "just call the local water company", even though the fault doesn't rest with them. Never again. And to anyone reading this, I'd avoid them like the plague.
Renting, appalling conduct
Renting. I had a difficult experience when starting to rent a property, I thought that this was OK. Landlord gave notice, through Belvoir, with 10 weeks notice - as allowed by contract. They offered to take to extend, in effect, rescind, and then with less than 5 weeks weeks said - changed mind and no compromise for even a month. Absolutely appalling. Leaving no option but legal action. They may act for the property owner, but should only do so within what is acceptable. Relate to property rental in Forton, Longparish. Treat any consideration in this area with extreme caution,
Only giving one star as zero not…
Only giving one star as zero not available. Whilst 'gazumping' is legal in this country, an estate agent has a duty not only to a vendor, but to the purchaser as well...this is likely to help achieve a smooth transaction for all involved. Belvoir Brighton failed to be transparent in their dealings with us after we had made an offer on a property which was accepted verbally. They refrained from communicating in a professional and ethical manner and seemingly played the system in their favour. Apart from the loss of time and money and the inconvenience they caused, we lost our mortgage offer and had to start the process all over again. Had Belvoir been honest, attentive and efficient, we'd have had time to request an extension on the offer. They need to read their own statements/promises on the website, as we certainly didn't get the service they claim they will offer. Ethics should have prevailed here, but they didn't. Even after making an official complaint, the response was totally defensive and insulting. Anyone thinking about using this agency should consider their options very carefully. There are a few good agents in Brighton to choose from.
Shocking response or should lack of response, unprofessional and unacceptable
Was extremely interested in a new listing for a bungalow to rent in Nether Wallop. I contacted the Andover office twice by phone and even filled out a request to view the property online and as of yet had absolutely no response (some 3 days later!!) It is obvious that prospective tenants receive (or should I say don't receive) a completely different level of customer service. Totally unprofessional and unacceptable. I am sure if I had been a potential buyer, the level of service would of been entirely different. I feel sorry for the home owners of these rentals as I am sure they would like them occupied sooner rather than later!! I have checked today and the property in question is still available and even if it wasn't it would be nice to have my initial enquiries replied too. Shame on you Belvoir Andover :(
Hi had a horrible experience with…
Hi had a horrible experience with Joseph and the lettings team in Swansea. First took 4 days to get hold of anyone. Had a viewing made an offer this was not passed to landlord. Was told by txt message that we did not get the property? Absolute dodgy liars please avoid using this company.
Be careful about this company
Be careful about this company, they just waste your time, I am waiting to see the property while receiving a confirmation email but nobody comes there, after calling them they said we don't know why he did not come to this... No responsible, no on time company
Nothing but praise for Skipton
Nothing but praise for the Skipton branch. Dealt with any issues promptly and were always super helpful. Kevin was especially helpful and forwarded our mail after moving out.
Weston super mare-
Weston super mare- If you have a decent job and look after your rented property then don’t bother going through Belvoir! They would rather allow people who aren’t even tenants and spend all day in the below properties have more rights. Drug taker and obvious mental health issues if the person down stairs who wasn’t even included in the tenancy. Various occasions of screaming on a daily basis (which they knew and never did anything) which escalated to the person becoming verbally abusive to me. I lived alone and felt very unsafe which I told Belvoir, to which they replied… because they aren’t on the tenancy agreement there wasn’t much they could do and to call the police. I felt I had to leave because I was unhappy and unsafe there on the day of moving out the person downstairs came out screaming and swinging a bat… good luck to the new tenants….. and Belvoir…. Congrats you lost a good tenant
If you have kids avoid them, because they will make you feel bad about having them
Oh my jesus! I'm in shock 😲 we are looking to rent a flat, so I called this agency to arrange a viewing of the property, as soon as I said I have a little baby I got an answer that one bedroom flat won't be suitable for us 😲 I mean how do you know what is it suitable for me and my baby if I haven't seen the property and there's no such a thing written on the property discription ?! And how can you say such a things? There's no law which is saying that parents cannot live in one bedroom apartment with a baby who's even too small for a nursery 😠 so people if you have babies avoid this agency because they will make you feel bad about having them!!!!
