Belvoir Watford Lettings

They are really nice until you are in. Then they don't want to help with anything, don't do the decorating promised, send poor quality workman (a plumber who left us with no hot water in the winter for example), don't give accurate feedback or good advice back to the landlord.

Great service

Belvoir Tadley have recently assisted me with the sale of my property and I found the team there to be honest and helpful. I chose to proceed with Belvoir following three valuations which all came out at different prices and different marketing strategies. Belvoir offered me a range of options which they felt were in my best interests - after taking the time to fully understand my requirements and timescales. Once advertised the viewings were conducted professionally and my house sold for above the asking price advised by the other agents. Highly recommended.

Worst Property Agents - AVOID

Never in my life have I experienced such a poor service from a Letting Agents. We moved in to our rented house in July 15 and we originally used a company called Goodchilds (who were awful). We had lots of issues with them. Our Daughters bedroom was leaking, we reported it and then a month later, Goodchilds told us they don't manage the property anymore and Belvoir have taken over. They told us we would have to tell Belvoir. We had received no letters or confirmation of this and were told we had to change our Standind Order so we did. We soon realised that Belvoir and Goodchilds were the same company and were even worse! It took them another month to then fix my Daughter's bedroom, at which point it was very bad and cold. Another issue was when the boiler stopped working. It was on a Friday night so I called Goodchilds/Belvoir and they said we would have to wait until Monday as it wasnt urgent. We have a young family and the house was freezing but Hannah was extremely rude and basically told me I had no choice but to wait. The front door was leaking and letting woodlice in. Belvoir first tried telling us that we had to pay to have it fixed and then, after weeks of waiting, finally sorted it for us. We have had threating letters off Koran Lake (at Belvoir) making out that we have ignored letters regarding the fire alarms being tested. We had not received any letters and even though the engineer came and said they needed replacing (out of date), nothing has been done. They have also messed our rent up on numerous occassions and sent us threatening lettings in regards to it. I recommend you steer well clear, whether you're a tenent, a landlord or a property buyer/seller. This company is truly awful.

Not interested and just after money

Used belvoir Newcastle. Found this lovely flat in the area we wanted so obviously I was really happy! Originally kept pushing back the date we could move in because there were 'problems'. The charges are quite high here but I assumed that meant I was dealing with a more professional company. When we first went in, there was quite a few things wrong with the flat but nothing we couldn't fix such as deep cleaning. The whole flat felt very cheap. The door handles broke off within a week, you controlled the fridge and freezer with one dial which meant that one was never the right temp, freezer door seal was rubbish so we lost most food we put in there. One of the wooden planks on the balcony splintered and stuck up at s dangerous angle causing quite a few small injuries. Seal around the washing machine came lose, the vacuum was broken and other bits and bobs. Reported all of these and not a single one was fixed. I lived there 2.5 years. I took the tenancy with one lady who then moved to another city so someone else moved in to take her place. Since I never left, I still had to pay full admin fees, was re referenced and a new deposit. At the very end of the tenancy they tried to keep my full deposit claiming they needed to re carpet the whole flat and pay for rubbish removal and professional cleaning. The carpet had stains on from when we moved in and before they returned my initial deposit. There was no actual damage other than stains, no rips, tears, etc so no need to fully recarpet. I managed to argue the amount down and settled on a massive reduction but still annoyed that they had the audacity to charge us anything. Customer service is nonexistent. They all say they'll be right back, they'll let me, they'll do their best but I honestly believe they just sit in their office laughing at all those people who are struggling in their properties. Don't be fooled by their nicey nice approach, they'll screw you over

Very poorly managed

Reported to them at the start of January 2016 that the boiler was not working properly as it was constantly fluctuating between hot and cold, making taking a shower very uncomfortable and painful. After weeks of sending emails and phone calls, the boiler still has not been fixed as of April 5th 2016.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. CHEATS. JUST WANT YOUR MONEY.

I had rented an apartment in Huntingdon for over 6 months and decided to move to a new location for business purposes. At the start the employees seemed nice and were all cheery and helpful and replied back relatively fast. However, I then told them that I was going to move out and I understood perfectly that I had to give them a one month notice. So I was responsible till the 11th for my rent. Then one of the employees rang me and told me there was another person very interested in the apartment and that if I leave as quickly as possible they will refund my deposit and the rent as soon as possible. That week I had hired cleaners and a moving company so I can then hand the keys to them and get my money as quick as possible. Keep in mind I had to pay a lot for the cleaning and moving company. Then I hand in my keys directly at the Belvior in Huntingdon, and a lady that helped me there before said that I was still responsible for the rent till the 11th which was not what I was told by the male employee. My daughter was also with me when he called me and we remembered exactly what he told me, another person was very interested in the apartment and if we move out as soon as possible before the 11th they will refund the remaining rent and deposit. Now I have tried to get my deposit back, I have explained everything, went into the Belvior agency in Huntingdon, talked to them. In the end they said it was just a miscommunication on her colleague's behalf. Yet I will still have to pay the rent for the whole month that I wasn't responsible for and I will only get £250 back from my deposit. It has taken them about a month to finally admit it was a miscommunication yet, it is still my responsibility to pay for the rent. Also, multiple times, I have rang the company, and they tell me they will get back to me 'in a few minutes' but the last time I waited about 3 WEEKS. No emails, no call back. Nothing. Do not trust this company, I wish I would've seen the reviews on TrustPilot before. They are unprofessional and untrustworthy. I will never use any Belvior agency service again and will 150% warn everyone I know.

Disapointed

I am not impressed. From the overly cheery beginning which is not a complaint to end up with the service and attitude of that of a 12 year old school boy is very disappointing. They did not live up to what they promised. The tenant has left me with a costly bill and no rent. I realise that this is not the agents fault but non the less how they dealt with it, is! Disappointed and frustrated, going to move my property to another local Renfrewshire agent.

Cheats & Unethical

Had the most annoying experience with Belvoir Edinburgh. They had advertised a property at a price 'A'. I made an offer which got accepted by the landlord by the evening. When the time came for paying up the deposit, I was told the rent is not A, but 'A+25'. I was quite surprised and annoyed and asked the lady to check since their website ( belvoir.co.uk) and Rightmove both advertised the rent as 'A' for the property. And then I was told there has been some kind of a MISTAKE. REALLY?? mistake at 5 places on your website and also on Rightmove??? Had they told me my application was rejected or the rent was 'A+25' in the first place, I would not have been so upset about it. Do not deal with them to avoid disappointment. Cheats and unethical bunch of people.
