Took a very long time to get our deposit back

They did not wanted to give out the deposit back for a very long time until we started to threaten with a court case and I'm about the Belvoir from Spalding. They been promising to send it back every single week and they lied all the time. Writing here because I cannot find a page for a Spalding branch.

BELVOIR GRIMSBY

BELVOIR GRIMSBY Poor company. Used to be very good when they were Willow properties. Since Belvoir took them over, the customer service has hit rock bottom. They are dishonest, don't check their facts before they give poor references and jeopardise potential new tenancies. Jobs don't get done despite numerous reminders, then they just pretend not to know anything about it. Try to withhold deposit for pathetic reasons (1 bag of rubbish left in the back yard as the wheelie bin was full). Staff are rude, unprofessional and don't care one bit about their tenants. Avoid like the plague. Such a shame.

Would be 0 if I could(Wolverhampton)

Would be 0 if I could. Viewed property during lockdown was group viewing 9groups in a flat. (Wolverhampton branch) was like covid wasn't going on. Offered to place holding n wanted to apply was told to get application no holding its landlords choice so went out to ring and the man had already said it was gone. Not fair when was a group some people had no chance. Told one thing ment another. Rung to complain and know where went wrong and the man put the phone down wasn't interested. Very rude and bad customer service.

Frankly terrible customer service

Frankly terrible customer service. The people who work in the office are rude and unhelpful. The woman on reception literally hung up the phone on me when I was trying to book a viewing.

Took a generous lump of my deposit

After renting from Belvoir in Yorkshire, after renting for only a short amount of time, Belvoir decided to take for themselves a generous lump of my deposit, all for the tiniest bit of dirt I missed. Is hiring professional cleaners really necessary for this? Had I been told, I'd have done it for them! Disappointed after the deep clean I had given the flat. I do feel that estate agents take advantage of the deposit scheme.

Awful/No communication

We wanted to it an offer in on a house. We have had to call several times to make the offer. Been told 5 times someone will call me back and they never do. Finally got to make an offer and had to chase for an update several times. The communication is so poor we are looking to withdraw our offer (although we live the house) as the estate agent gives no confidence at all. If you want to sell your house then chose another agent. They are in love rush to accept offers

Appalling service, awful estate agent

I got a voicemail from Sue asking me to ring back. I did so and asked for Sue. They asked for my name and put me on hold. After 30 secs, they came back on line and asked for my name and the reason for the call. (!? Sue asked ME to ring back). After Sue had the decency to come to the phone, she said the property I enquired about is unsuitable for my purpose. She was rude and wasted my time. I do not recommend this pompous and time-wasting estate agency or Sue, an unprofessional, useless estate agent (as such as she calls herself).

I would give zero stars if I could (for…

I would give zero stars if I could (for the branch in Dudley). I'm a prospective tenant and tried over several weeks to contact them (prior to covid). They never answered and when they did they were unhelpful. I booked one viewing and they sent me the incorrect address and hence showed me the wrong flat. Second viewing they didn't show up and called the current tenant to show us round ...most unprofessional company ever! They kept us hanging on for over 2 hours saying they'll be there in "10 minutes" and in the end stopped answering their calls. You can't even make this stuff up.

Like being kidnapped but less exciting

I enjoyed reading the five-star reviews of Belvoir, by Belvoir staff. What those guys lack in reliability or basic respect for human life, they certainly make up for in imagination. I rented through Belvoir for two years. The nicest thing I can say about them is that they don't actively go out of their way to screw you over. Instead they screw you over in the same lazy, incompetent way they do everything else. A number of things went wrong with that flat, some of them fairly serious health and saftey risks, and I received no help from Belvoir without emailing them multiple times. Even when they do help you out you kind of have to trick them into actually helping you out rather than helping you out by telling you there's nothing they can do. Pretending to be a lawyer and saying they're in trouble normally works. The plus side is that having rented through Belvoir makes for a long and thrilling anecdote, like being stranded on a leaking raft or being kidnapped and having to negotiate your own release. And the flat only flooded once. And even then they helped out after a couple of weeks.

Belvoir Cumbria

I was renting a property with a different letting agent when they sold all their tenancies to Belvoir Cumbria in Whitehaven. A few months after this happened I ended my tenancy giving a months notice to Belvoir. I was told that even though my tenancy had started midway through the month I would have to wait a month plus an extra few weeks so it would finish at the end of their month as it was their policy. I was slightly annoyed as I had signed with a different letting agent who's policy was just a months notice. However there was nothing I could do so I just paid the extra few weeks rent. After I handed my keys back I kept chasing to see when the inspection would be so I could get my deposit back. It took them nearly 3 weeks before they completed it. (A checkout inspection should be completed as soon as possible - not 3 weeks later) They then said on their inspection report that there was dust buildup and wanted £100 for professional cleaning. I rejected their claim as I had cleaned the property thoroughly before handing the keys back. The dust was most likely due to the length of time it took Belvoir to inspect the property. I asked them to use the DPS resolution service however they took nearly 2 months to repsond with me chasing regularly. They then offered to reduce the cleaning bill. By this time I was just fed up of chasing them and they were effectively holding my entire deposit hostage as they would not respond. So I accepted the reduced bill even though I did not believe it was fair. I would never again rent with Belvoir.
