Unhelpful and dismissive
My experience with Kevin at Harrogate lettings branch was very poor indeed. My long term relationship had just ended abruptly and unexpectedly and I urgently needed rental accommodation. I was made to feel unwelcome in the office. Because I then worked part time and thus needed to look at more modest rentals I was made to feel poor and inadequate. I was interested in a property but a viewing was never arranged despite me trying to call about it several times. On recounting my experience I found that other people had had similar encounters. The experience at Belvoir contrasted strongly with that at other Harrogate estate agents who went out of their way to be helpful and provide excellent customer service.
Belvoir = please avoid if you can
Belvoir - Chorlton and Manchester Central branches (told these are franchises so I wasn’t allowed to report to head office!) One of the most stressful experiences of my life. Started to move some of my belongings into the property after receiving the keys (had a cross over of paying for 2 properties for a week as is the case with some of these agents). Property was filthy so contacted to inform I had at stared to move some of my items in (a car load) but it needed a clean as promised. Returned a week later - no cleaning, everything taken. Took weeks to get just a fraction of my things back (basically anything that couldn’t be sold), bridesmaids dresses, electrical, cameras, bike equipment, boots. All gone. Every person I spoke to Belvoir was unsympathetic - (in particular Kash Asif) and would not take any responsibility. I now own my own property but had rented for over 15 years across multiple City’s and had never been treated so badly as I had been by this company. Property Ombudsman ensured I received compensation for the way I was treated but unfortunately there was enough evidence to receive compensation for my possessions. Please please try and avoid.

The Ruthless agents in town. So many bad reviews and still they are operating. They dont have humanity. Carl the director and Jaynce the sales person just bully customers. They extracted a huge amount from customers and never care for them. Worst agent to be named. I would never suggest this agency to anyone.

I paid a weeks holding fee for a property with them for them then to say I hadn’t been accepted due to a bad reference off my old landlord who I then myself contacted (my current agents and asked them about the reference as all rent etc was now paid up to date before looking for a new property my current agents agreed and said they don’t understand who sent the bad reference and would look into it ) I had already explained the issue with with rent a one month half late payment due to personal circumstances which was now paid UP TO DATE I also showed them proof off this, they also had the audacity to call me a liar over a ccj if I know of a ccj I would have declared this however I only got the letter after applying for the property, now all this is fine they have rights to not accept me on these terms HOWEVER the fact they had no intention of contacting me to tell me this I had to ring them several times to find out what was happening with my application then on top of this refused to pay me back the holding fee that I had paid and I quote “ on the bases they had done applications and took the property off the market and it was a waste of there time” this isn’t valid for keeping someone’s holding fee for the property! Money should be taken when accepted for the property rude staff who don’t keep you informed and scam you out of your money avoid like the plague

DO NOT USE !!!!!!! HAYWARDS HEATH branch in west sussex... i was exploited of my deposit by this letting agent. The moving-in inventory they did was basic and deceitful but the moving out one was thorough as they expected me to make their old house a sparkling new one. The inventory was done in my absence and CHRIS THE INVENTORY GUY WROTE A FALSE REPORT AND PUT DEBRIS EVERYWHERE IN THE HOUSE TO BACK UP HIS CLAIM!!!(the house was cleaned in and out by two people before the inventory)how can a house that was wiped in and out appear to be dusty all through as claimed in the report? WHAT A LEVEL OF DISHONESTY!!! the house was a mouldy apartment and was covered with paint so after 3 months the mould started coming out..at least every 4 days the moulds would appear after cleaning and i had to trigger my break out clause. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO FORFEIT YOUR DEPOSIT!!!! THEY ARE SHARKS LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO PREY ON !!!!! RUN :pbrun: if possible to write a review with zero star I would
Bad company
I rented a property from Belvoir in Sheerness when they first opened and changed names. Karen the manager did help with everything. It was a very nice property. 6 months after living here I received a letter staying they had done an inspection, and they will be visiting again as it was left untidy from toys. I phoned them and asked why they had been in my house without informing me first. They said they sent out a letter and they can not speak on behalf of royal mail if I did no receive this letter. I said a phone call would of been appreciated. They said they do not have time to do this. After they had been in my house while I was at work I was worried once they did this again and I might of been in the shower etc. I then gave my notice in, I had to pay for the oven to be cleaned. Before checkout they told me to give them the desposit information, so I phoned deposit protection and they told me I should not do this because they can take all my deposit. checkout I keeped my deposit. They do try it! They are very rude
Expensive letting costs
Expensive but they do a fairly good job. The parent company shares have doubled in last year partly due to large increases in landlords fees and new added charges such as checkout charge. If not careful they will overprice themselves and landlords wil start to vote with there feet as they are the dearest out of all the big agents. Shame they don't up the rent by as much as they increased there charges. I'm alright Jack springs to mind
Terrible service, avoid
Terrible service, over promised and under delivered at the Cardiff branch. Rob comes round very unassuming and signs you up and then no one looks after your property, there’s no way the checks were done on my house when I was letting it and I came back to torn carpets, broken bannisters, mould and black tape (?) all over the bathroom and a load of renter’s additional mould covered furniture. They take your money and do not complete the service they offer. Do not use them to rent your property.
Incompetent timewasters
I was shown an apartment advertised for let, with an earliest move-in date 20th of December. However, we were told on site that it will not be available until well into the following month (as it was under major renovations). Very disorganised.
Thirsk branch complete waste of time
Thirsk branch complete waste of time, enquired about a let they had rang 3 times never rang back when promised also just put phone down on one occasion. Emailed no answer so the poor owner of the property has lost a very good prospective Tennant.
